+ Recover Total
The sovereign backup stack.
End to end.
One bill. One brand. One jurisdiction. Backup software, control plane, and storage — all operated from Iceland.
+ 01 / Architecture
Three layers,
one jurisdiction.
The full stack. Software on the endpoint, control plane in Iceland, storage in Iceland. No US control plane in the path. No third-party SaaS holding the keys.
+ Software layer
Backup agents
Recover Total agents installed on customer endpoints, servers, and virtual machines. Scheduling, deduplication, and client-side encryption happen here, before anything leaves the device.
+ Control plane
Managed in Iceland
Tenant management, policies, retention, and reporting run on Icelandic sovereign infrastructure. No US-controlled SaaS in the management path.
+ Storage layer
Recover Resilience + Archive
Active and immutable storage tiers included by default. Recover Vault available as add-on for air-gapped recovery. All on Icelandic infrastructure.
+ 02 / Coverage
Workloads we
back up today.
Coverage on day one. Specifics confirmed during onboarding.
- +Windows, macOS, and Linux endpoints
- +Windows Server and Linux Server
- +VMware and Hyper-V virtual machines

Microsoft 365 (Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams) is on the roadmap and confirmed before launch. Talk to us for current status.
+ 03 / Compared
Why this vs.
rolling your own.
DIY backup stacks work. They also leave you assembling vendors across jurisdictions. Recover Total is the same workload coverage with a single accountable vendor.
DIY backup stack
Veeam, MSP360, or similar + cheap S3
- Multiple vendors, multiple contracts
- Backup software, control plane, and storage in different jurisdictions
- You assemble, you operate, you escalate
- Flexibility to mix and match tools
Recover Total
Software + control plane + storage from Iceland
- +One vendor, one contract, one bill
- +Every layer on Icelandic sovereign infrastructure
- +We operate the stack; you operate your business
- +Single accountable vendor for the whole pipeline
+ 04 / Who it's for
Built for organizations
leaving US-controlled infrastructure.
01 / MSPs
Serving regulated SMBs
Legal, healthcare, accounting, public-sector contractors. Customers who need a story for where their data lives, and a vendor who can answer the question.
02 / Small enterprises
Strict residency requirements
EU and non-EU jurisdiction angle. Operations that can't move forward without confidence about every link in the backup chain.
03 / Sovereignty migrations
Leaving US-controlled stacks
Organizations actively reducing exposure to US-controlled SaaS, infrastructure, and warrant jurisdiction. Backup is one of the load-bearing pieces.
+ 05 / Pricing
Configured per
deployment.
Workload mix, retention windows, and recovery posture vary enough that we price each deployment specifically. Talk to us — we'll size it together.
+ 06 / Questions
Things people
ask us.
Where does my data live?+
Iceland — both in transit through the control plane and at rest in storage. The agent runs on your devices; everything beyond that runs on Icelandic infrastructure.
Who runs the infrastructure?+
Recover.is operates the product layer — agents, control plane, customer-facing systems. The underlying compute and storage is hosted with an Icelandic sovereign cloud provider.
What backup engine do you use?+
Recover Total is built on Comet Backup — a proven, certified backup engine we license and operate under our brand on our own infrastructure. Comet provides the agent and engine; we run the control plane, storage, billing, and the customer relationship. You buy from us; we are the single accountable vendor.
Can I keep using Veeam or MSP360?+
Yes. The Recover storage tier (Resilience, Archive, Vault) supports any S3-compatible backup software. Recover Total is for customers who want the full stack from us instead.
Is the data immutable?+
Yes — every plan includes S3 Object Lock with configurable retention. The Archive storage tier is built on the same primitive.

Recover Vault is the air-gapped recovery tier — credentials and network paths separated from primary backup infrastructure. Available as an add-on for Total deployments.
